Benefits & Drawbacks

Diamondback Bicycle 2014 Axis Sport Mountain BikeThe Diamondback Bicycle 2015 Axis Sport Mountain Bike has a wide range of benefits. Designed with the aluminum frame, this bike looks sexy and light, yet sturdy enough for bikers who want to ride off-road.

In the field of suspension, the SR Suntour front suspension fork, with its high quality, greatly smooths the ride on the bumpy roads. However, because of the characteristics of the hardtail bike, the ability to absorb shocks of this bike is still weaker than the other dual-suspension type; and therefore this bike is not recommended for really tough and rough trails. Moreover, one thing you should notice about the front fork of this bike is that, it should be kept clean all the time to maximize your safety.

Talking about safety, the Diamondback Bicycle 2015 Axis Sport Mountain Bike is highly appreciated. This bike offers hydraulic disc brakes at both front and rear for better stopping power. Experimental biking shows that with disc brakes, stopping the bike while at high speed is just a piece of cake!

About the speed, this bike offers 24 speeds with the triple chainring crank and the SRAM drivetrain- 8 speed trigger shifter and derailleur. With this number of gear, this bike is appropriate for entry-level biker, though it still provides good experience for other amateur and experienced bikers as well.

The table below will summarize all the pros and cons of the Diamondback Bicycles 2015 Axis Sport Mountain Bike:

  • Smooth ride on normal trails
  • Great stopping power with hydraulic disc brake
  • 27.5 inches wheel for the best riding experience
  • Not good on rough terrain

Great Bike For The Moneyout of 5 starsBefore I bought this bike I did a lot of rsraeech on the Schwinn 230. I was getting ready to buy it and decided to go to Sears to check it out. My first impression of the Swchinn is that it looked cheap. I rode it for awhile and was not impressed. I decided to look elsewhere. I decided to go with the Diamondback 500SR. With nowhere to test this bike I took my chances. At only $399 I figured it would also be pretty cheap looking and feeling, but it was worth a shot. It arrived in a large box. I was worried when I opened it that I would find hundreds of pieces to put together. To my surprise there were only about ten pieces that I needed to put together. It took me less than an hour to put together. I only got stumped a couple of times. The directions were asking for screws that we’re not in the hardware kit. It turned out that they were already screwed in where they were supposed to go. I just needed to unscrew them, align the part and then screw it back in. It was very easy to put together. The bike and display look better than the Schwinn’s, in my opinion. It rides about the same. I was looking for a recumbent bike because of some major lower back problems that I have. This bike is very comfortable. The adjustments on the seat back give me the support that I need. The only issue I do have is the fan. Give me a break. If you’re going to spend time on designing a bike with a fan on it make sure it displaces measureable air. I have a gym at work with a couple expensive recumbent bikes. The Diamondback bike cannot compare to these. You do get what you pay for. However, for $399 I’m happy with my purchase.
